Ukrainian hazelnut seedlings, grown in vitro and sold with a closed root system, demonstrated weaker adaptation to field conditions compared to traditional seedlings with an open root system, writes EastFruit citing AgroTimes. This was reported by Alexander Voloshchenko, director of LLC "Hazelnut Polissya" in Zhytomyr region, in an article for the journal "Gardening Ukrainian-style." According to him, the farm established experimental plots with seedlings with a closed root system. However, after planting in open ground, the plants started slowly and took a long time to adapt to the local conditions.
