In 2024, Russians will choose bran bread twice as often

September saw a doubling in demand for bran bread compared to the previous year, alongside increased interest in sliced loaves, ciabatta, and baguettes. Protein bread topped the low-calorie category with a 1.9-fold rise in orders. There was also a significant uptick in purchases of hot dog and burger buns, pita bread, and lavash. The average cost of homemade bread is 83 rubles, with bran bread, sliced loaf, and ciabatta costing 66, 73, and 109 rubles, respectively.

Demand for sliced loaves (1.8 times), ciabatta (1.7 times), and baguettes (1.2 times) also increased compared to 2023. Whole loaves and corn bread are in fourth place (1.6 times). Classic wheat bread rounds out the top five (1.4 times). By the way, Russians buy it 13 times more often than rye bread, and 17 times more than Borodinsky.
