Russia: Imports of meat and meat products through the port of Saint Petersburg increased by 9% in 2024

In 2024, the Big Port of St. Petersburg saw a 9% increase in meat and meat product imports compared to 2023, totaling 168.2 thousand tons. The majority of these imports were beef and beef by-products, followed by poultry meat and buffalo meat from India. The main suppliers were Latin American countries, with Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay leading. However, the import of dairy products has decreased significantly, from 22.5 thousand tons in 2023 to 15 thousand tons in 2024.

Imports of meat and meat products arriving through the Big Port of St. Petersburg increased by 9% in 2024 compared to 2023, the head of the North-West Interregional Administration of Rosselkhoznadzor Oleg Emtsev reported at a TASS press conference. "If we talk about the total receipt of livestock cargo through the Big Port of St. Petersburg compared to 2023, then in 2023, 488 thousand tons were received. Here, all products of animal origin - dairy, fish, feed and feed additives. This year - 479 thousand tons.
