Hazelnut exports from Azerbaijan to Italy, volume down, price per ton up

Azerbaijan has experienced a 26% increase in the price of peeled hazelnuts sold to Italy but a decrease in sales volumes, with a 37% drop in exports to Italy leading to a 21% decrease in export value compared to last year. The cost per ton of exported nuts has also risen from $5,760 to $7,277, resulting in an additional $1,517 received per ton. Overall, Azerbaijan exported 1,378 tons of peeled hazelnuts in the first 10 months of 2024, valued at $10.03 million.

This year, Azerbaijan sells peeled hazelnuts to Italy at a price 26% higher than a year earlier, but sales volumes have fallen, EastFruit reports. In the first 10 months of 2024, Azerbaijan exported peeled hazelnuts in a total volume of 1,378 tons. The export value amounted to $10.03 million, Abc.az reports. According to the country's State Statistics Committee, the volume of nut exports to Italy decreased by 37% compared to last year, and in value terms, the decrease was 21%.
