Trade4go Summary
(Seoul=Yonhap News) Reporter Seong Hye-mi and Shin Sun-mi = The prices of the 21 key Chuseok products under the government's concentrated management this year are showing an overall stable trend.
By item, prices for vegetables such as radishes, onions, and cabbage have decreased compared to last year, while prices for livestock products such as beef and pork have increased. Apple prices have slightly decreased, but pear prices have slightly increased.
However, when purchased at large-scale supermarkets, the perceived price of some items decreases further due to the application of discounts from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) (agricultural discount), the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries discount (Fisheries Expo), and the store's own discount.
According to the distribution industry on the 28th, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs selected 21 items for this year's Chuseok key products, including apples, pears, persimmons, cabbage, radishes, onions, garlic, potatoes, zucchini, beef, pork, chicken, eggs, chestnuts, jujubes, squid, anchovies, pollock, mackerel, hairtail, and dried anchovies. Compared to last year's 20 items, pine nuts were removed and persimmons and zucchini were added, making a total of 21 items.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced that the prices of this year's Chuseok key products are relatively stable. There are no items that have been placed on alert for supply and demand due to the absence of damage from autumn typhoons.
According to the agricultural product distribution information from the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (KAMIS) and the livestock distribution information from the Animal Products Quality Evaluation Service, comparing the retail prices of key products 11 days before this year's Chuseok (October 6) and 11 days before last year's Chuseok (September 6), there are 9 items with decreased prices and 9 items with increased prices.
