Food products in August became cheaper by 1.3%

Inflation in Ukraine's consumer market in August 2026 was 0.1% compared to July. Year-on-year, against August 2025, the figure reached 8.1%. This is evidenced by data from the State Statistics Service of Ukraine. Food products and non-alcoholic beverages became cheaper by 1.3% over the month. Prices for vegetables and fruits decreased the most — by 18.3% and 12.0% respectively. The price of butter also decreased by 0.6%. At the same time, prices for eggs increased by 4.0%, sugar by 2.2%, and fish and fish products by 1.6%. Meat, cheese, bread, pasta, and non-alcoholic beverages increased within the range of 0.5–0.9%. The tariff grid and non-food items showed different trends. Clothing and footwear became cheaper by 2.5%. Prices for housing, water, electricity, and gas increased by 1.3%, due to an increase in water supply tariffs by 16.8% and sewage by 16.7%.
