China launches anti-subsidy probe into EU dairy products

China has initiated an anti-subsidy investigation into certain dairy products imported from the European Union (EU), following a request by the Dairy Association of China and the China Dairy Industry Association. The investigation will cover a period from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024, and will examine up to 20 EU subsidies, including those from the Common Agricultural Policy and subsidy programs from member countries like Ireland, Austria, Belgium, and Italy. The probe aims to evaluate the potential damage to Chinese domestic industries and is expected to conclude by August 21, 2025.
