The number of vessels scheduled to load sugar at Brazilian ports fell to 43 in the week ending December 18, compared to 55 registered in the previous week, according to a survey by the Williams Brasil shipping agency. During the period, the total volume scheduled for loading was 1.454 million tons, representing a reduction in relation to the 1.947 million tons registered previously. The Port of Santos, in São Paulo, leads in shipments, with 689,855 tons scheduled. Next in line are the Port of Paranaguá, in Paraná (561,397 tons), São Sebastião, in São Paulo (76,300 tons), Suape, in Pernambuco (18,000 tons), Maceió, in Alagoas (33,000 tons), Recife, also in Pernambuco (71,150 tons), and Imbituba, in Santa Catarina (4,450 tons).
