Brazil exports record volume of coffee

In the 2023/24 crop year, Brazilian coffee exports hit a historic high of 47.3 million bags, a 32.7% increase from the previous year, surpassing the previous record of 45.7 million bags in 2020/21. This surge generated a record foreign exchange revenue of US$9.826 billion, up 20.7% from the 2022/23 season. The record performance was driven by the highest-ever June exports of 3.573 million bags and revenue of US$851.4 million. The first half of 2024 saw shipments of 24.286 million bags, generating US$5.331 billion, marking significant increases from the previous year. The growth is attributed to lower coffee availability in other regions and persistent logistical issues, both internationally and domestically.
