Azerbaijani persimmon exports to Russia increased by 71%

In 2023, Azerbaijan saw a 1.5% increase in persimmon production, reaching 187.1 thousand tons, the highest since 2015. Of this, 164.9 thousand tons were exported, earning $127.2 million. The country has also seen a significant increase in fruit and vegetable exports to Russia in 2024, with tomato exports up by 9.7%, nectarines by 34.2%, peaches by 26.6%, and strawberries by 10.7%. Overall, 338.7 thousand tons of fruit and vegetable products have been exported to Russia.

As EastFruit previously reported, 187.1 thousand tons of persimmon were produced in Azerbaijan in 2023, which is 1.5% more than in 2022. Of these, 164.9 thousand tons were exported, worth $ 127.2 million. This is a record level since 2015. At the same time, persimmon supplies from Azerbaijan to Russia since the beginning of 2024 have increased by 71.3% compared to the same period in 2023, amounting to 31.2 thousand tons.
