The Designation of Origin (DO) "Cherry of the Valley of Los Antiguos – Patagonia" took a new step towards its commercial implementation after completing the pilot project that allowed the validation of the Quality Management System (QMS), a key tool for guaranteeing traceability, compliance with production standards, and certification of the product. The National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA) reported that, with this advancement, the initiative prepares the way for the first export of Argentine cherries with the Designation of Origin seal during the next season. The project, financed by the Government of Santa Cruz through the Federal Investment Council, aimed to implement and validate a system that strengthens the differentiation of the product, its territorial identity, and its competitiveness in the markets.
