(Seoul=Yonhap News) Reporter Han Ju-hong = The Central ASF (African Swine Fever) Incident Management Headquarters announced on the 4th that African swine fever has been confirmed at a pig farm (housing 3,500 pigs) in Yeoncheon County, Gyeonggi Province. The number of African swine fever cases this year has increased to 22. The headquarters has dispatched an initial response team and an epidemiological investigation team to the site to control the entry and exit of external personnel and livestock and vehicles to the farm, and plans to cull the pigs being raised. To prevent contamination in the outbreak area, the pig farm and surrounding roads are being disinfected. A 24-hour temporary suspension of movement has been ordered for personnel and vehicles at livestock-related facilities such as pig farms, slaughterhouses, and feed mills in Yeoncheon County, Gyeonggi Province. The headquarters stated, "We ask related agencies and local governments to make all-out efforts for quarantine measures such as rapid culling, thorough inspection, and intensive disinfection."
