Algeria bought more than a million tons of wheat at a tender, deliveries are expected from the Black Sea countries of the EU and Ukraine

Algeria's state grain procurement agency, OAIC, has secured 1.17 million tonnes of milling wheat in a tender at a price range of 257 to 258 $/t C&F, a decrease of 10 $/t from the previous tender in November. The wheat is expected to be delivered in February-March 2025, with the majority likely to come from Black Sea EU countries and Ukraine, as tensions with France may exclude French wheat from the deal.

Algeria’s state grain procurement agency OAIC contracted 1.17 mln tonnes of milling wheat at the tender held on December 24. The purchase prices ranged from 257 to 258 $/t C&F, which is 10 $/t lower compared to the previous tender of the agency on November 26, where the price was 267 $/t.
