Agri tragacanth honey on its way to Europe; A global showcase for the region's value

Ağrı Geven Honey, which is filtered from the high-altitude plateaus in Ağrı's unique nature and carries the scent of the astragalus plant, is reaching a new threshold to find the value it deserves in the international arena. The European Union Geographical Indication Registration application process has been initiated for this special honey, which received a geographical indication registration on behalf of the Ağrı Province Beekeepers Association with the support of the Serhat Development Agency in 2022. A protocol was signed with the participation of Serhat Development Agency Secretary General Nurullah Karaca, Ağrı Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Mehmet Hüseyinoğlu and Ağrı Province Beekeepers Association Deputy Chairman Taha Karakoç within the scope of the application.
