Russia: 318 million valuable young fish saved in the Astrakhan region

The Blue Patrol project has successfully rescued millions of fish fry by releasing them into flowing waters, with a total of 318 million fry saved this year, following 180 million saved the previous year. The project aims to continue this initiative through 2025 in collaboration with the fisheries protection service, which has identified numerous violations and seized various fishing gear and aquatic bioresources in the first three quarters of 2024.

To prevent the fry from dying, the project participants collect them by hand and release them into flowing waters. Last year, 180 million fry were saved, and this year - already 318 million.
